Naoko Ono was born in Japan and is a classically trained pianist. She came to the U.S. in 1994 and studied with some of the Jazz greats like Ron Carter, Barry Harris, Michael Mossman and Sir Roland Hanna. She studied and earned her M.A. at Queens College and her B.A. at Tokyo Kunitachi Music College.


Naoko has also performed live with her trio, Montego Joe, Sabir Mateen, Billy Bang, Ann Sinclaire, Annette St. Johns, The Cotton Club Jazz Orchestra/Gospel Show Band (recorded, radio and TV performances) at many well known venues such as Birdland, Roulette, The Knitting Factory, The Maine International Film festival, The Panasonic Jazz Festival, The Vision Festival and played the "Legend of Jazz" at Stuyvesant Cove Park Concert.
